We believe in the Bible as the Word of God revealed to the Prophets and written for us. We believe it is complete and it is God’s Word that speaks to us when we read it or hear it. We believe it teaches us what we need to know about ourselves and about God. It is the final authority for all the church does, teaches, and believes. (This doctrine is also known by the Latin phrase sola scriptura.)
We believe that God saves us by giving us faith and by grace only (nothing that we deserve), through Christ alone. (These doctrines are also known by the latin phrases: sola fide, sola gratia, and solus Christus.)
We believe that the Glory for our salvation and all things should be given to God alone. (This doctrine is also known by the Latin phrase soli Deo gloria.) It is his work (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) that is responsible for bringing dead men and women to life.
We believe the Holy Spirit opens the Word of God to us and gives us understanding and direction and guidance.
We believe we, the church, are not foreigners (Acts 1:22-23) but members: joined together as the Body of Christ with includes all true believers. We were once foreigners of Zion but now are native born through Christ (Psalm 87).
We believe the Church comes together to worship God on the Lord’s Day praising God; but, it exists to glorify God in all things, including the preaching of the Word, acts of mercy, evangelism, and love.
We believe we are not to worship God according to our own thoughts but according to those God has spelled out in the Word of God. Our Worship includes Hymns and Psalms and spiritual songs and even contemporary songs that are honoring to God and His Word.
We believe that we should support missionaries to spread the Gospel as God commands. Hope Church gives to the work of missions here and abroad through offerings.
We believe in the continual reformation of the Church to comply with God’s commands and His Word.
