What we Believe

We believe in the Bible as the word of God revealed to the Prophets and written for us.  We believe it is complete and is God's word that speaks to us when we read it or hear it.

We believe that God saves us by giving us faith and by grace only (nothing that we deserve), through Christ alone. Solo fide and solo gratia and solo Christus.

We believe that the Glory for our salvation and all things should be given to God alone.  It is his work (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) that is responsible for bringing dead men and woman to life.

We believe the Holy Spirit opens the word of God to us and gives us understanding and direction and guidance.

We believe we, the church, are not foreigners (Acts 1:22-23) but members are joined together as the Body of Christ which includes all true believers. We were once foreigners of Zion but now are native born through Christ (Ps 87).

We believe the Church comes together to worship God on the Lord's Day praising God but it exists to glorify God in all things, including the preaching of the word, acts of mercy, evangelism and love.

We believe God's we are not to worship according to our own thoughts but according to those God has spelled out in the word of God. Our Worship includes Hymns and Psalms and spiritual songs even contemporary songs that are honoring to God and his Word.

We believe that we should support missionaries to spread the Gospel as God commands.  Hope Church gives to the work of missions here and abroad through offering.

We believe in the continual reformation of the Church to comply with God's commands and his Word.
